RHCNA's Request to Muslim Ummah:
RHCNA requests the Muslim Ummah to adhere to the prescribed method outlined in the
Quran and Sunnah of following the ‘rooyat,’ verifiable sighting of the new crescent moon
to begin and end the month, and if the moon is not sighted to ‘complete the thirty days’
(Bukhari). Contrary to the notion, a pre-calculated calendar is not a substitute of the way
bestowed to us by the Beloved Rasoolullah (Sall Allahu alaihi wasallam). Ibadah, such as,
Ramadhan, Hajj, Eid, and others are based on the rooyat; it for this reason that we must be
especially vigilant to watch for the moon.

Bukhari Volume 3, Book 31, Number 133: Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet or Abu-l-Qasim said, "Start fasting on seeing the crescent (of Ramadan), and give up fasting on seeing the crescent (of Shawwal), and if the sky is overcast (and you cannot see it), complete thirty days of Sha'ban."
